Seth Godin made a statement in a recent blog post that says “There is a significant difference between, “I promise,” and “I’ll do my best.”

This is a good point. As a business owner or marketer, it’s important to make promises that you’re willing and able to keep. When you make a promise, it’s more than just words—it’s a commitment that your customers expect you to honor.

Only offer promises when you’re confident you can deliver, and then work tirelessly to fulfill them. This not only shows dedication but also builds trust and strengthens relationships with your customers.

While it’s assumed you’ll always do your best, making realistic, achievable promises demonstrates your reliability and integrity. Customers will appreciate knowing they can count on you for more than just effort—they can count on results.
