How to setup and configure email

When establishing a new POP email account on our servers there is a specific process for configuring your email client. Please refer to the following instructions to send and receive email.

1) Request to have us setup your email addresses within your account or you may have access to manage this yourself. You’ll setup the email address and assign a password for each account. You may elect to setup a POP account (dial into the server) or setup an email forward.

2) For POP accounts, configure your account withing Outlook or your preferred email software. The example below is Apple Mail but the settings will be the same.

3) Please note, the incoming mail server is your domain name WITHOUT the www in the address. So, to illustrate an example, if you were setting up email for Sanctuary Media Group it would look like this sanctuarymg.com NOT www.sanctuarymg.com

4) Your account username is your COMPLETE email address.

5) Also, note that you can use the outgoing mail server for your internet service provider or you can use our servers. We recommend that you use your ISP if possible but we can provide this service if needed. Just contact us.

6) There may be some additional settings. Below are some common advanced settings. Make sure that “Use SSL” is not selected. Also, note that authentication should be set to password. This is the unique password for your account. We also recommend that you delete email off the server from time to time.

After the initial configuration is setup, just send yourself an email from another account like a free Yahoo or Gmail account or have a friend send you a message to verify that your email program is accessing your account properly and downloading emails.

Web Mail:

You may also use webmail if you are away from your computer. To access your webmail account just go to http://webmail.your-domain.com and enter your full email address for the username and your account password. This will allow you to send and receive email directly from the server as well as many other options.
